Why is the Liquor Lotto?

If the Liquor Lotto has a soul, it might be a forgiving supplicant.

Filled everyday with cigars, cigarettes, Jack Daniels and 20 ounce coolers, it’s there. For you.  Your trip to the corner store says something about you and little to nothing about the block building.

A narrow structure, painted over and over, the stores are typically anchoring a corner at the intersection of the residential housing area and a commercial feeder road. Like pubic fringe the party store decorates our neighborhoods.

Take a left turn out of the subdivision, onto the “trunk line” road and you pass the party store. On the way home after work, going out to the card game, or minutes before kickoff, the Liquor Lotto has the fix.

Beer, liquor, nicotine or games of chance and probability, the party store is stocked and sinking. We go for forgiveness and acceptance, like an alter.
